The Who Interview Explained
A structured way to uncover candidate history
The Who Interview is the backbone of the Who Method. It is a structured, chronological interview that uncovers a candidate’s career journey in detail.
The five key questions:
-
What were you hired to do?
-
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
-
What were some low points?
-
Who did you work with?
-
What was your boss’s name?
-
What was it like working with them?
-
What would they say were your strengths and weaknesses?
-
-
Why did you leave?
Why it works:
-
It reveals patterns over time.
-
It reduces bias by focusing on facts, not impressions.
-
It provides material for reference checks (via TORC).
Pro tip:
Always ask follow-up questions to dig deeper — especially when accomplishments or reasons for leaving seem vague.
